About the Journal
Aims: The Journal of Health Information Systems (JHIS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that focuses on the development, implementation, and impact of health information systems. We publish research articles, review articles, communications, and short notes in the fields of health informatics and information technology.
Our main aim is to encourage the dissemination of innovative research in health information systems to enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and support health policy and management decisions.
Scope: The journal covers the following interest areas and sub-areas in health information systems:
- Health informatics
- Electronic health records (EHR)
- Health information exchange (HIE)
- Telemedicine and telehealth
- Mobile health (mHealth)
- Health data analytics and big data
- Health information technology implementation and evaluation
- Privacy, security, and ethics in health information systems
- Health information systems interoperability
Publication Ethics: The Journal of Health Information Systems adheres to rigorous peer-review and strict ethical policies in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards. Issues such as plagiarism and data falsification are taken very seriously with a zero-tolerance policy. Submissions are checked for originality using iThenticate.
Book Reviews: Authors and publishers are encouraged to send review copies of their recent books to our editorial office. Received books will be listed in the News & Announcements section.
