Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original work to the Journal of Respiratory Medicine and Population Health (JRMPH). All submissions are first assessed by an editor for fit with the journal's focus and scope; manuscripts considered a good fit are sent for double-anonymous peer review.

Article Types

Original Research Articles — reports of original clinical, epidemiological, or laboratory research.
Review Articles — systematic or narrative reviews synthesising existing evidence on a defined question.
Case Reports — reports of clinically instructive or unusual cases, prepared following the CARE guidelines.
Short Communications — concise reports of preliminary or focused findings.
Letters to the Editor — comments on previously published JRMPH articles or brief observations.

Manuscript Preparation

Title page: full title, all authors' names, affiliations, and the corresponding author's contact details, submitted as a separate file from the main text to support double-anonymous review.
Abstract: structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) for research articles, 250 words maximum, with 4–6 keywords.
Main text: organised as Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion (IMRaD) for original research.
Language: manuscripts may be submitted in English or French.
Tables and figures: numbered consecutively, with a descriptive title and any abbreviations explained in a legend; submitted as editable files, not embedded images where avoidable.
References: numbered consecutively in order of citation and formatted in the Vancouver (NLM/ICMJE) style, the referencing convention used across biomedical journals.

Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants must have been approved by a relevant institutional review board or ethics committee, with the approval reference stated in the Methods section, and informed consent obtained and documented.
Clinical trials must be registered in a public trials registry, with the registration number reported in the manuscript.
Authorship must follow the ICMJE criteria for authorship; all authors must have contributed substantively and approved the final manuscript.
Any conflicts of interest and sources of funding must be disclosed in the manuscript.
Manuscripts are expected to include a data availability statement describing how the underlying data can be accessed.

Article Processing Charges

JRMPH applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of US $150 to manuscripts that pass peer review and are accepted for publication; there is no charge for submission or for peer review itself. See the journal's Charges page for full details, including fee waivers.

Submission Process

Submissions are made online through this website. Authors without an existing account should register before starting a new submission; returning authors can log in and use the "Make a New Submission" option.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

The names, email addresses, and other personal information entered on this journal's site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal — including editorial correspondence, the peer-review and publishing workflow, and legally required record-keeping — and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

What information is collected

When you register or submit a manuscript, this site collects the information you provide directly (name, affiliation, email address, and submission-related metadata such as your manuscript's title and abstract) and basic technical data generated by your use of the site (such as login timestamps), used for account administration and security.

How your information is used

To manage your user account and role on this journal (author, reviewer, editor).
To conduct and communicate about the editorial and peer-review process.
To send you journal-related notifications you have opted into, such as new-issue alerts.
To meet the journal's obligations for scholarly record-keeping, indexing, and archiving (see the journal's preservation policy).

Data sharing

Your personal data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Published articles' metadata (author names, affiliations, titles, abstracts) is, by the nature of open-access publishing, made publicly available and may be indexed by search engines and bibliographic databases.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data associated with your account by contacting the journal at diallodjelo@yahoo.fr. Note that data associated with a published article (author name, affiliation) forms part of the permanent scholarly record and cannot be removed after publication.
