Refund Policy

Refund Policy

At the Journal of Infectious Diseases and Pneumology (JIDP), we strive to provide transparent and fair policies regarding Article Processing Charges (APCs). Our refund policy is designed to address various situations where authors might request a refund after paying the APCs.

Refund Eligibility

Withdrawal Before Publication

  • Author-Initiated Withdrawal: If an author withdraws their manuscript after acceptance but before publication, they may be eligible for a partial refund. The refund amount will depend on the stage of the publication process and the costs incurred by JIDP up to that point.

  • Editor-Initiated Withdrawal: If the editorial board withdraws a manuscript after acceptance due to ethical concerns or other major issues, a partial or full refund may be granted depending on the circumstances.

Withdrawal After Publication

Once an article has been published online, APCs are non-refundable. These charges cover a range of services already provided, including peer review, editing, typesetting, and hosting.

Refund Process

Request Submission

  • How to Submit a Request: Authors seeking a refund must submit a written request to our billing department at Support@sciencejournalhub.org, providing detailed reasons for the request.

  • Documentation: Authors should include any relevant documentation supporting their request, such as correspondence with editors or proof of payment.

Evaluation

  • Review Period: Refund requests will be reviewed by the billing department and the editorial board. This process typically takes 14 to 21 business days.

  • Decision Notification: Authors will be notified of the decision via email. If the request is approved, details of the refund amount and process will be provided.

Special Considerations

Technical Issues

If a payment was made in error (e.g., duplicate payments or incorrect amounts), authors should notify the billing department immediately. Corrections or refunds will be processed promptly once verified.

Fee Waivers and Discounts

Refunds will not be issued for APCs that were waived or discounted. Authors who received financial support or fee waivers are not eligible for refunds.

Appeals

If an author is dissatisfied with the decision regarding a refund request, they may submit an appeal. Appeals should be directed to Support@sciencejournalhub.org, including any additional information or context that may support the appeal. Appeals will be reviewed by a senior member of the editorial board, and a final decision will be communicated.

Final Notes

The Journal of Infectious Diseases and Pneumology (JIDP) is committed to ensuring a fair and efficient refund process. Our policies aim to balance the needs of our authors with the operational costs required to maintain high-quality open-access publishing.
